The Defiance of Dandelions
This play was a part of our annual Playwrights Festival for the Playwright MFAs to showcase their work. This piece was written by Philana Imade Omorotionmwan, a 3rd year playwright at the time. Philana wrote the play in part to showcase the numerous Black undergraduate actresses in the program. My goal was to also highlight their blackness and womanhood. A part of the play is set in a past Africa and then ventures to a modern day corrective school. There were parts that involved a lot of movement, so I had to tackle designing for a straight-forward play as well as a dance piece. I also had the challenge of costuming a character that had to give birth to Dandelions on stage. I loved being able to dive into African lore, dance, and costuming!

The Last Days of Judas Iscariot (2017)
As a part of a Costume Design course, I co-designed this production with three other students. This play has a large cast so we split up the characters evenly between the group. I was responsible for five characters. The director didn't want the biblical characters to be period accurate. We made the characters more modern with elements and nods to their biblical selves. Due to the structure of the class and production schedule, instead of creating complete renderings, I created tear sheets for my designs.
